Mayhem at Marchstone!

Our wonderful puppies are doing really well with their toilet training.  We get them out into the garden as quick as we can and so far, for the past couple of days we havent had any accidents in the house.  We have the pups playing for about half an hour at a time in the living room and they have been very good.  No little piddles!

This morning I was putting the puppies out in the garden, to be faced with one of our chickens who escaped the coup.  As the puppy races up to say hello with sheer delight at meeting a new pal (just like puppies do!) I then realised we had more than just Doris out, but Ellie, Nanny Fox and also Matilda were in the garden pecking up the grass.

Needless to say trying to catch four chickens whilst having four pups under your feet wasnt an easy one and rather funny too!

So I decided I would feed the puppies to adress their focus and attention elsewhere!!! So I could then catch the chickens with the help of Katherine (who is the EXPERT at catching the feathered creatures!!!).

Later today we will be worming the puppies so that will be another hectic time trying to get the liquid in their mouths and not on their coats or on the floor!

Wish me luck :0)

So pleased….saw Marley from last years litter!

I was delighted to be opening the door yesterday to an unexpected surprise!

My dear little Stevie – now called Marley, had come to give us a wonderful surprise.  It really made my day to see him.  I cannot express enough how much it means to me seeing my pups healthy and happy.  Knowing the pups are doing well means I have done something right.  Thank you so much for bringing him back for a visit.  It made my day!

Brothers who hadnt seen each other for a year - playing like old pals!

The Pups are Full of FUN!!

We are letting the puppies have the run of the bottom floor – this means we are all getting plenty of exercise as we are keeping them out of trouble!

They love to help put the washing out and are also very good at gardening!

I have now updated the gallery with photos.

Pups 6 weeks old today

Here is a little video clip of them racing about the garden.

Gorgeous pups – into EVERYTHING now!

The puppies view on life…..Chickens…scary??? NO way!  CATS – they are just slightly different to us pups !   The rabbit does seem to have the idea that we should be chased but now that we are getting bigger we are going to chase him! heh!

Everything is for chewing and life is for LIVING!  Yay to fun in the garden!

Puppy Mayhem!

Our adorable puppies are creating mischief and mayhem!  I have now had to totally re-puppy proof my garden!! The little tinkers have got into the chicken coup (several times!!)  so now I have had to make a few modificatons to the fencing and hopefully all will be well.  Only time will tell as to whether my DIY efforts have been worthwhile!!!!

We are at the stage where the puppies are busy, rushing about, scampering and playing – so we are having to be very careful when we are walking as they are getting under our feet quite easily!

This afternoon the puppies had plenty of playtime in the garden, then whilst we had our dinner they spent some more freetime in the kitchen!  Adorable little monkeys that are definitely going to break my heart BUT make someone’s life fulfilled!

Tomorrow the puppies will be 6 weeks old – where has the time gone?  not long before they will be leaving our home.  :0(

I hope to be uploading some photos and videos very soon!

5 weeks old today!

The pups are enjoying plenty of time hoolying about in the garden. Melvin takes on his role of being big brother very seriously indeed!  It is such a delight to see him playing with the puppies.  They have been tugging his ears and pulling his tail!  Bless him, so tolerant!

Pups at just over four and a half weeks old

We have had a couple of busy days with worming the puppies (yesterday), clipping their claws today (16 sets of paws!!) and watching them hoolie about.  My puppies are gorgeous little dumplings and we do have episodes of complete madness!

I have three videos for you to see.

Where is the time flying to?  It wont be long before my babies are leaving the home!

The pups have been creating all sort of mischief and mayhem as they are now having a hoolie in the garden as much as the weather will allow!

We are having fun and games with the pups playing in the living room and the kitchen.  Melvin adores his little brothers and sister – It is really cute to see this leggy yellow dog being loving towards the pups!

Pups at three and a half weeks!

We have officially started the toilet training.  From the age of three and a half weeks we have been putting them in the garden – after each meal and every time they wake up.  So far we havent had any poos in the whelping box for TWO days!! GO PUDDING PUPS!

We have also started meal times, I will attempt to get photos at some point of them having their food – but I need all hands on deck as it gets a bit crazy and they do eat very quickly (I feel I need more pairs of hands and be able to move a bit quicker!!)

The pups are finding their feet when outside starting to explore the garden a little bit.  The sooner they get used to big wider spaces and all the normal noises that come with a busy household the better it is for them.

Last night we had the puppies playing in our living room.  Skipping about with the adult dogs and a few of the toys we have put out for them.

When the pups see something new they have to investigate the object before touching it.  I really enjoy these first steps, in learning what play is all about.  Watching them looking at a ball then batting it with a paw, is something I really treasure.  The pup taking that first step at tentative play with a toy is a milestone to them.

Beautiful girl 26 days old!

Here is a video clip of the puppies playing with each other, they are having a wonderful time mouthing each other and at times biting each others tails! comical!
