The pups are a week old!

Gosh it is hard to imagine that this time last week we were still adjusting to our new charges!  The pups are doing really well putting on weight daily.  They are gorgeous little puppies and I’m sure will provide a lot of companionship to their owners as already they are lovely and cuddly!

I have added photos to the diary!

6 days old

Today we have clipped the puppies claws!  They grow quite quickly and need to be kept short so as not to scratch Molly’s tummy.  It is one of those jobs best done when they are asleep!

The pups are being regularly weighed and doing very well.

Here are a couple of video clips of the puppies moving about the pen just before feed time!

Im so lucky

Yesterday morning (16th March) Katherine greeted me, holding the three black girls.  Saying Happy Birthday Mummy, these are for you!  Im so lucky that I get to choose one of these puppies!

The puppies are all doing very well and putting on weight nicely.  I have added some more photos to their gallery!

Molly is a devoted mother to her pups.  Molly only has to call for “room service” and she gets her food delivered to her.  We are having to feed her five meals a day to keep up with her nutritional requirements.  I also give her nutriplus gel which helps top up her nutrition without bulking her up on food too much.  She gets a boiled egg in the morning (as well as her breakfast meal), some cheese with her midday meal and is being given plenty of fluids regularly.

Normal fluid requirements for a dog is 50ml per kilo per 24hrs.  So if Molly wasnt feeding her puppies she would need 1250ml a day.  We are aiming to give Molly between 2 litres and 2.5 litres of fluid a day.  In effort to ensure Molly does drink as much as she needs we are giving her water with natural yoghurt and a small amount of goats milk added to it.  A perfect way to encourage a dog to drink lots of water!

We are enjoying cuddles with the pups.  The puppies at this stage are spending alot of time asleep or feeding.  Katherine took an opportunity in giving them all a big cuddle this afternoon.

What sweet little puppies Molly has given us.  I have had a good opportunity today of taking some photos, I hope you like them!  (I have not moved the puppies to take these photos.)  There are more in the puppy’s gallery.

Bundles of cuteness

We are now getting into a bit of a routine with the pups and Molly so everything is becoming more normal.  Molly is such a wonderful attentive mother that it is a joy to see her in action.

I have taken a few photos and uploaded them onto the 2013 gallery.

here is a sneaky preview of a couple….

Miss Orange...how sweet eh?!

Important information Colours for Collars!!!

In order of birth the collars have been given as follows:-

First pup – Black Girl – PURPLE

Second pup – Black Girl – PINK

Third pup – Yellow Girl – ORANGE

Fourth pup – Yellow Boy – BLUE

Fifth pup – Black Boy – WHITE

Sixth pup – Black Boy – GREEN (was grey)

Seventh pup – Black Girl – RED

Sometimes the purple collar looks a little bit blue in photos.  The grey collared pup may change to another colour as very similar in photos to the white.  (so not all that helpful!)  I will update with new colour choice when I have made the change!

Gorgeous little puppies!

Well we are still in a bit of disbelief that the puppies are actually here!!! Though their squeeking reminds us they are definitely here!  Bless them they do squeek!

Here are a couple of little video clips for you all to see:
